Congratulations on the purchase of you new Wales Pool Ionizer. This unit is designed to give you years of enjoyment while at the same time reduce your maintenance & chemical cost and give you much healthier water to swim in.
ATTN: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION
Ionizer Kit Includes
- Electrodes
- 2" PVC Tee
- Controller
- Wallplate
- Transformer

Step 1: Drain Spa and find a line on either the suction or pressure side of pump one, or the circulation pump, (whichever one runs while the spas is heating) allowing enough room for the 2" Tee.
Step 2: Cut line where tee will be installed. It may be necessary to remove a 2-3/4" section of pipe to allow the tee to fit
Step 3: Glue tee into place. It may be necessary to use reducer bushings as the tee is 2" and some spas may use smaller lines
Step 4: Drill a 3/8" hole in the side of the cabinet wherever is convenient (using the plate as a guide). Then mount the plate using 2-1" drywall screws.
Step 5: Mount controller on the inside of the cabinet and connect the two leads at one end of the controller to the two leads on the top of the ionizer tee. Remove screw and washer from the other end of the controller and insert then into the wall plate. Replace washer and screw.
Step 6: Plug ionizer into wall socket for one hour per 100 gallons of water capacity of the spa. Test for copper range of .5 ppm after 4 hours and every two hours. Unplug ionizer after desired copper level reached (usually 6 to 8 hrs).
Wales Ionizer - Things to do after Spa installation or retrofit:
Bring at least 1 pint of water back to the store for testing after the first
2 weeks.
Follow these instructions every time you drain and fill your spa:
1. Fill with water
2. Use a test kit to prepare the water for optimum enjoyment:
A. Calcium level should range between 150 ppm to 250 ppm.
B. Alkalinity level should range between 80 to 120 ppm.
C. PH should be 7.2 — 7.6. Optimum for tub start up is 7.2—7.4.
To increase PH ( PH Up) , use baking soda. Add 1 oz per hour until desired level is reached.
To decrease, use dry acid (PH Down).
E. Copper level should range between .5-.6ppm.
